Auto Accidents
- Cuts and lacerations
- Contusions
- Fractures and broken bones
Our facility has on-site X-ray equipment to evaluate the extent of your injuries. Our staff is trained to treat broken bones, sprains and superficial wounds. We are fully trained and equipped to repair larger cuts and wounds by providing stitches and/or staples. Our facility has on-site DME (Durable Medical Equipment) such as crutches, braces, and boots to help patients who need extra support due to their injuries.
Wounds from auto injuries can also give patients concerns about infections. With our comprehensive wound treatment, we make sure to clear the area of any foreign objects before mending the open laceration. We are also able to remove debris that has become lodged in the skin or the eye, so that patients will not experience residual complications from these factors. With proper and immediate intervention for these types of auto injury, our patients will be able to heal properly, so that they can return to their regular quality of life.
Internal and Skeletal injuries after an automobile accident
In many cases, people will also walk away from a car accident without any apparent damage. However, even if the injury is not obviously noticeable, there can still be internal concerns that may be indicated by pain and stiffness several days after the incident. This is generally due to the fact that during an accident, a person’s adrenal response will mask this type of injury. It is only after the shock has worn off that the pain will present itself.
At Briggs Chaney Walk-In Clinic, we have a vast amount of experience with this type of auto injury as well. These problems may express as:
- Sprains and strains
- Joint damage
- Torn tendons or muscles
- Back injuries
- Neck injuries
- Whiplash
While we recommend that even patients who have no obvious injury after a car accident should still have our staff give them a checkup, we are also prepared to address these issues once the pain becomes apparent after several days. It is important to remember that the sooner these concerns are looked at, the better they may be treated. Immediacy in response can lead to faster and more complete healing.
Follow-up Care for your Motor Vehicle Collision
Whether our patients come in directly after an accident has happened, or several days later as hidden injuries begin to appear, our staff is able to diagnose the extent of the trauma and come up with the appropriate treatment plan. We are also able to help patients with the necessary forms so that billing can be submitted to the vehicle insurance provider. All of this can be completed at the time of the initial visit, and follow up treatments may also be handled through insurance.
At Briggs Chaney Walk-In Clinic, we are also an active part of the Silver Springs community and have relationships with local attorneys should our patients need these services after an auto injury.
Although we are equipped to treat minor injuries, if you are experiencing life threatening conditions such as chest pains, difficulty breathing, stroke, head trauma, severe bleeding, or loss of consciousness, immediately dial 911 or go directly to the ER.
